During Term 1 our students have starting cooking with renewed enthusiasm and delight in discovering and creating many and varied delicious recipes with vegetables such as: tomatoes, zucchinis, cauliflower, carrots, rhubarb, pumpkin and an assortment of different fruits. Students also participate in preparing vegetables and fruit for chutneys and relishes.

During Term 1 we have enjoyed an abundance of tomatoes, zucchini and rhubarb from our garden.  These very versatile vegetables have been the key ingredient for many delicious recipes cooked in our school kitchen.

The Sunflower Project

Sunflowers were a key part of our planting in the Goodwood Primary School 2015-2016 Kitchen Garden.  The sunflowers’ tall, willowy stems and smiling faces provided wonderful inspiration for student artwork.  

Celebrating the Summer Harvest

Our seventh year of the Kitchen Garden program at Moonah Primary has started fantastically well with our students excited to find all the lush growth which occurred over the summer holidays.  A wonderful bounty of enormous pumpkins, ripe tomatoes, fat zucchinis, juicy cucumbers, bright red chillies, fragrant basil and many more beautiful vegetables ready for harvesting and eating!
